Jim Barnes has over 25 years of experience in the real estate appraisal field.
As a Chief Appraiser for 10 years at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) he managed appraisal resources in the analysis of complex apartments and mixed use projects, land developments, nursing and retirement homes and various commercial, industrial and office projects.
At the Ministry of Revenue in the Province of Ontario, he was a Senior Property Assessor, responsible for the assessment and re-assessment of all types of properties.
He has achieved full A.A.C.I accreditation and is a member of the Ontario Executive Committee - Legislation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada. He also received full M.I.M.A. accreditation through service on the Board of Directors of the Provincial Association of the Institute of Municipal Assessors.
Other accreditation includes Fellow of the Real Estate Institute (F.R.I.) with the Real Estate Institute of Canada, Broker of Record with Watersun Realty Inc., member of the Toronto Real Estate Board, Ontario Real Estate Board, Canadian Real Estate Board, Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University in Business Administration and Policies plus Director of the Alumni Committee at Wilfred Laurier University and progress toward a M.B.A. through the University of Manitoba and Laurentian University, Certified Auctioneer from National Auctioneer Association and a member of Tarion.
